saint patty's day

A little over three years ago my husband gave me a little something that would forever save me from St. Patty's Day pinches.

My favorite color happens to be green so I've had no problem completely decking myself out in green in honor of this lovely day(which is basically a requirement when you work with kids... go big or go home!). For my head I will wear a new headband that I created just for the occasion.

With the kids at work we've done a lot of talking about leprechauns. They are in awe of these little guys that run around making mischief and want nothing more than to catch one and get a pot full of gold. Yesterday we spent some time coloring and designing our very own leprechaun traps! I had to send their plans home because they would obviously be needed today, but here is my incredibly sneaky plan. I hope it works! Fingers crossed!

Our home has spent the week looking all sorts of festive with this beautiful shamrock plant that Blake and I were given by his mom. And for the evening we have TWO St. Patrick's Day pot lucks to attend. One with Blake's classmates in the industrial design studio at CSULB and then a second with our community group from church. Bring on the stew and Baileys!

  4. That ring is gorgeous! Enjoy the Baileys -- it might be the day after St Pat's, but I think I might have one myself!

I am so glad my blogposts over at http://www.stitchingincircles.blogspot.com are inspiring you for your trip! Let me know if you have any questions about where to go, where to stay, etc in Dublin or Kilkenny (I can give you more general advice about the rest of Ireland, but those are the 2 areas I know best).

  5. What a lovely ring! Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a sweet comment. Love your name, reminds me of my oldest daughter, Jen, who is an educator and APC of a Florida high school.

Very much looking forward to reading your great blog!

  10. Thank you for stopping by my blog. As I read your post on the Leprechaun traps, I remembered my girls making them for their kindergarten homework. Yes, they had to have traps that would work!
Ever try to get a kindergartener to understand the concept of a lever? Is was loads of fun.
I hope you have as much fun with your 'kids' as I did with mine. (I volunteered and taught science in my kids elementary school for years.)
